Mineski Global holds 'Lockdown Games' to raise funds for frontliners amid COVID-19 threat


Mineski Global is holding an esports tournament to raise funds for healthcare workers amid the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Dubbed as "Lockdown Games," the competition features PBA stars such as June Mar Fajardo, Marc Pingris, Japeth Aguilar, and Kiefer Ravena.

The gamers are set to play Mobile Legends, Marvel Super War, and Call of Duty. These will be livestreamed in the MineskiTV Facebook page.

Interested parties may donate via GCash or pledge any amount to the organizers. Proceeds will go to UP Medical Foundation to support frontliners battling against COVID-19.

Marvel Super Wars will be on March 24 to 26, while Call of Duty will be on March 30 to April 2.

As of Tuesday, the Philippines has 501 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 33 deaths. The entire Luzon has been placed under enhanced community quarantine.
