'Bar Boys,' 'Bliss' and other local films you can stream for free during quarantine
Instead of paying for an online streaming membership, why not enjoy some Philippine cinema online for free?
For your viewing pleasure during this enhanced community quarantine, we put together a list of local films you can devour as we wait for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) threat to pass.
Bar Boys
This comedy-drama follows the lives of four friends aspiring to become lawyers.
The full movie starring Rocco Nacino, Carlo Aquino, Kean Cipriano, and Enzo Pineda is now available on YouTube “with consent from the director and producers to hopefully help with the boredom of staying at home while on community quarantine.”
4 Days
This LGBTQIA+ movie by director Adolf Alix, Jr. starring Mikoy Morales and Sebastian Castro is available on Vimeo until April 7.
Mikoy shared the password “4days0214” in one of his posts on Instagram, where he also called for donations to aid some film workers who were affected by the enhanced community quarantine.
Bliss
This psycho-thriller from director Kip Oebanda is about an actress (Iza Calzado) who gets involved in an accident and is left in the care of her husband and an unusual nurse.
It was among movies that the production studio TBA uploaded on its YouTube channel as the Luzon-wide quarantine went into full swing
Gayuma
This erotic drama-thriller by Cesar Hernando starring Benjamin Alves is about a young art student who slowly gets drawn to a mysterious drawing model in their school.
TBA also uploaded the full version on its YouTube channel.
Jose Rizal’s Noli Me Tangere (1961)
How about a classic? Award-winning director Mike de Leon uploaded the actual black-and-white film by Gerardo de Leon on Vimeo.
De Leon actually uploaded a ton of other classic films dating back to the 1950s in his Vimeo account ”Citizen Jake.”
