Mylene Dizon tends to her own vegetable garden amid quarantine

Mylene Dizon has heeded the call of the government to grow food in backyard gardens amid the enhanced community quarantine.

On her Instagram account, the veteran actress shared a video of her harvesting romaine lettuce from her home in Silang, Cavite.

Kyline Alcantara, Mylene's co-star in "Bilangin ang Bituin sa Langit," also grows food in Bicol.

The Department of Agriculture has encouraged Filipinos to grow vegetables under their Plant, Plant, Plant program.

They give away seeds and seedlings so people can practice urban gardening.

In Baguio City, the Agricultural Services Division have also distributed seeds so citizens can grow their own "survival gardens." --MGP, GMA News
