Surigao teens turn song of K-pop group Itzy into quarantine anthem
Three teenagers from Surigao del Sur parodied a song from K-pop girl group Itzy and turned it into a quarantine anthem.
In Nelson Canlas' report for "24 Oras," the group, who calls themselves "Ponytail Girls," took the song "Dalla Dalla" and reworked it into "Gala Gala."
The song expresses their yearning to go out and visit other places amid the enhanced community quarantine.
"Naisipan po naming gawan ng video dahil po alam po namin na marami pong makaka-relate dito," they said.
They also created a music video showing them all dressed up as they danced and sang ala K-pop stars.
Some netizens praised them for their creativity, but others could not help but ask how they were able to shoot with the quarantine measures in place.
The girls said their hometown remains free from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
"Nasa iisang bubong po kami at ang lugar na aming vinideohan ay malapit lang po sa aming bahay," they said.
"Wag po kayong mag-aalala at palagi po kaming nag-iingat. Mag-ingat po kayo palagi at wag po nating kalimutan magdasal," they added. —MGP, GMA News
