Online sensation Zendee recreates 'Tala' with quarantine-inspired lyrics

Online sensation Zendee Tenerefe recreated Sarah Geronimo's song "Tala" with quarantine-inspired lyrics.

In Nelson Canlas' report for "24 Oras," Zendee said she named the parody as "Gala" and posted it on TikTok.

The song included hilarious lines such as, "Tila ako'y puro tulog lang at kain, mag-gagabi naman nakahiga pa rin."

"Ang Pilipino mahilig sa music," she said. "Tapos sa TikTok parang nakakapagod 'yung arte arte lang. Tas napagod na rin po ako sa patama na parang puro negative. Sabi ko divert natin na masaya lang."

"Gala" has gone viral with over 500,000 likes and even actors such as Yasmien Kurdi were seen singing along to it.

In Surigao del Sur, a group of teen girls also spent their creative energy into producing a parody of Itzy's "Dalla Dalla."
