Man who travels from Antipolo to Pasig for work gets his own bike

This resident from Antipolo City no longer has to borrow a bike every day to get to his work in Pasig City.

To thank John Aris Paican for providing essential service during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, GMA’s morning show “Unang Hirit” has given him a bike of his own.

John works as a merchandiser to support his wife and kid.

He has to pedal all the way from their home in Antipolo and back using a borrowed bicycle from a bike lending group.

“Pagod ka na sa work, pagod ka pa pagdating mo sa bahay,” John said.

GMA News’ Mariz Umali caught up with him on Tuesday to tell him the surprise.

“Hindi namin kayang tumbasan ’yung sakripisyo at pagod na ’yan pero sana kahit papaano makatulong ito,” Mariz told him.

Unang Hirit also gave a 59-year-old construction worker his own bike.
