Filipinos’ interest for bikes hits ‘all-time high’ amid COVID-19 threat–Google

Google Philippines has revealed that Filipinos’ search interest for bicycles has hit an “all-time high” amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

In its recent trending report, Google shared that there has been a “surge for search interest relating to bicycles in May.”

The search for bicycles in the Philippines last month has been the highest it’s ever been within the period of 2004 to May 2020.  

In May, mountain bikes were the most searched variety under the bicycle category. This was followed by a search interest for “bike shop,” “trinx bike,” “E bike,” and “bike parts.”

Some of the top searches also included “bike for kids” and “bike trainer.”

Because of the lack of public transportation due to the health crisis, more and more citizens have resorted to biking to get to where they need to go. – RC, GMA News
