Actor Neil Ryan Sese, volleyball player Jayvee Sumagaysay become delivery boys amid quarantine
With many industries suspending operations due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), workers had to find alternative means of livelihood amid the pandemic.
Even actors and professional athletes are not exempted, as proven by "Descendants of the Sun" star Neil Ryan Sese and volleyball player Jayvee Sumagaysay.
According to Lhar Santiago's report for "24 Oras," the two have temporarily switched careers to become food delivery riders.
"Naisip ko 'yung sea food, so 'yun kumuha kami ng puwesto pero hindi pala siya magwo-work kasi since lockdown nga," Neil said. "What if i-try natin na online siya, i-deliver natin, kasi marami namang gumagawa nun di ba?"
Neil got his bike ready and personally did the deliveries. He shared that his fellow Kapuso artists such Dingdong Dantes and Jennylyn Mercado supported his business by placing orders.
"Lalo na si Dingdong, hindi ko alam pala nag-o-order siya ang ginagamit niyang name 'yung name nung helper niya. Nahuli ko lang dun sa address," he said.
Jayvee, meanwhile, rides a motorcycle to offer silog meals on the streets.
"'Yung kuya ko po kasi chef eh. Hindi po siya nakasakay ng barko, nung April dapat po alis niya. Kaya ayun po kesa matengga, magamit namin 'yung skill niya," he said.
The national team member shared that he also to distributes food packs to the needy such as hospital frontliners, stranded passengers at the airport, LGBT senior citizens and homeless people in Manila.
The two, however, admitted that they miss doing their regular jobs.
"Sana hopefully makapag start na ulit kami, makapag resume kami," Neil said.
"Kahit pader na lang 'yung kalaro minsan, andyan pa rin 'yung hawak ko yung bola ng volleyball," Jayvee said. —MGP, GMA News
