Coldplay celebrates 20th year of debut album ‘Parachutes’

“Look at the stars, look how they shine for you, and everything you do. Yeah they were all yellow.”

Fans of British group Coldplay know this line very well from the band’s hit song “Yellow,” which is part of their debut album “Parachutes.”

Coldplay celebrated on Friday the 20th anniversary of the iconic “Parachutes,” the album that carried the classics “Shiver,” “Yellow,” “Trouble,” and “Don’t Panic.”

To celebrate, Coldplay released a 4K version of the “Yellow” music video and HD versions of “Don’t Panic,” “Shiver,” and “Trouble.”

“Happy 20th birthday to Parachutes, the album which set us off on this amazing adventure. Thanks to all of you who have joined along the way. Here’s the Yellow video fully restored to 4K quality,” the band’s creative director Phil Harvey posted on Twitter.

“Feels like yesterday, in another lifetime,” he added.

Bassist Guy Berryman also went live on Instagram Stories for a Q&A about “Parachutes” ahead of the anniversary. – RC, GMA News
