A different 'Lucifer' is coming back on Season 5
"Lucifer" is coming back for Season 5, but he seems... different.
Netflix just released a trailer, and it appears that Tom Ellis is playing two characters on the Netflix show — Lucifer, the Prince of darkness, and his twin brother, Michael.
To refresh your memory, last season ended with Lucifer's tear-jerking goodbye to detective Chloe Decker as he returned to hell to claim his throne.
In the Season 5 trailer, we see Chloe has gotten herself into some big trouble, then Lucifer miraculously steps in to put the bad guys in their place — or so it would seem.
Decker notices how this "Lucifer" has been acting differently since he arrived, and she guessed right.
It was actually Lucifer's twin brother, Michael, who came back to Earth, and he confesses his ploy to make a "mess" on Earth.
But don't you worry: The real Lucifer would eventually return to face Michael with a great big pair of white wings.
The trailer ends with a nail-biting snippet of the two brothers engaging in what seems to be an intense battle.
No wonder it's trending on YouTube!
"Lucifer" Season 5, Part 1 launches on Netflix on Friday, August 21. Until then, you can catch up on Season 1 to 4 on the streaming platform.
By the way, Season 6 has been confirmed. — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
