BTS set to perform in 2020 MTV Video Music Awards
This is not a drill: BTS is officially slated to perform at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).
MTV ’s official announcement confirmed that the K-pop group is joining the likes of Doja Cat and J Balvin as one of the first performers at the awards show to be held live on August 30.
According to Billboard, BTS is set to perform their new single “Dynamite,” which is set for release on August 21.
The sensational seven-member group, who won the award for the Best K-pop in 2019, have been nominated again for the same category this year for their track “On.”
BTS have also been nominated for the Best Pop and Best Choreography categories with the same hit.
Other nominees for this year’s Best K-pop include (G)I-DLE with “Oh My God,” EXO with “Obsession,” MONSTA X with “Someone’s Someone,” TXT with “9 and Three Quarters (Run Away),” and Red Velvet with “Psycho.”
Other nominees for Best Pop, on the other hand, include Halsey with “You Should Be Sad,” Jonas Brothers with “What a Man Gotta Do,” Justin Bieber with “Intentions,” Lady Gaga with Ariana Grande with “Rain On Me,” and Taylor Swift with “Lover.”
