These parents found fun ways to make distance learning work for their kids

How was your child's first week of class?

Since the academic year has officially begun, parents and guardians are expected to guide their children through their first experience with distance learning.

Some parents who have been doing an A+ job were featured on Oscar Oida's report for "Unang Balita" on Friday.

Cherry Mae Dumlao, for example, has transformed a room in their house to a full-on classroom complete with visual aids and a DIY white board.

The mother, who was doing everything she can to help her Grade 1 daughter with her distance learning, was happy to finally put her education background to good use amid the pandemic.

Meanwhile, Michelle Cabahog-Quano delighted netizens by sharing a video of a "virtual flag ceremony" at home. Like any regular school day, the children at home were wearing complete school uniforms down as they sang the national anthem.

Netizens also had a lot of praise for Negros Occidental student Julius Barbosa, who was photographed answering his self-learning module while selling balut to make a living. —Margaret Claire Layug/MGP, GMA News
