Here's why the 8th episode of 'The Haunting of Bly Manor' might be super relatable to everyone amid quarantine

Warning: Spoilers ahead

"The Haunting of Bly Manor" was released amid the quarantine period and according to one of its actors it's actually a timely show.

In an Entertainment Weekly report, Kate Siegel the returning actress in "Bly Manor," who portrayed "Viola" on the eight episode talked about how people might be able to relate to it especially during the quarantine.

According to Kate, her character Viola's soul being trapped in Bly Manor is something that people can identify with.

"I like to think people will identify with Viola more. If I say to you 'she sleeps, she wakes, she walks,' you can know what that feels like to be trapped in your house," Kate told Entertainment Weekly.

"We’re not trapped in our houses by a decades-old curse, we’re all there because we choose to be like Viola," Kate added.

In the show, those who die in the premises of "Bly Manor" get stuck there as ghosts and they eventually lose their faces after their souls fade overtime.

Given this, Kate said "In some ways that has been the challenge of quarantine: To stay connected to our loved ones and the world, and not have our faces and personalities melt away like the Bly Manor ghosts."

Because "horror helps people process trauma," Kate said the show is significant right now.

"It’s a safe place to be afraid because you know it ends. This is a particularly excellent show for that," she added.

"It will allow people to vent a little bit, and maybe let go of some of this grief and trauma we have from being stuck in our homes," she added.

Kate is the wife of "The Haunting of Bly Manor" creator Mike Flanagan. Her appearance has been confirmed prior to the show but her role has been kept secret until its premiere.

The actress only appears on the eight episode of the show which was based on Henry James' short story "The Romance of Certain Of Old Clothes."
