Friends paint artworks using mud from flooded areas to raise funds for typhoon victims
Two friends have started painting mud artworks to help raise funds for the victims of Typhoon Ulysses.
According to Marisol Abdurahman's report on "24 Oras," Banjo Magnaye and Arnold Gonzalez visited Rodriguez, Rizal in the aftermath of the floods.
The pair found that many areas were still submerged in mud and thought about doing something for the people who have been affected.
"Sabi namin, what if gamitin natin 'yung pagpe-paint, 'yung talent natin, para makalikom ng pondo at makatulong dun sa mga nakasalanta?" Arnold said.
"Ang concern po namin is pumunta sa mga lugar na kung saan on the spot namin ipine-paint 'yung place," he added.
They had the idea of using the mud in lieu of paint, though it had been a challenge for them at first.
"Natural pigment po kasi talaga siya e, putik, kaya ang hirap kumapit sa papel. Kaya nung una po nag-a-adjust ako pero nung nagtagal po nakuha ko na po 'yung momentum," said Banjo.
Arnold said they were inspired to act to help the families and loved ones left behind by those who died due to the flooding.
