'Rurouni Kenshin' drops new teaser for final chapter films, announces new release dates

Finally, we have release dates for the "Rurouni Kenshin" final chapter films!

According to a new teaser, "The Final" will be released on April 23 and "The Beginning" will follow on June 4.

The films, the final installments to the live-action adaption of the popular anime and manga, were delayed to 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The teaser video shows a sneak peek of the fight between main character Kenshin Himura and the final villain, Yukishiro Enishi.

Takeru Sato reprises his role as the wandering swordsman and former manslayer, while Emi Takei also returns as Kaoru Kamiya.

Enishi is played by Japanese-American actor Mackenyu, who also appeared in Pacific Rim: Uprising.

The final chapter films will tell the origin story of Kenshin's x-mark on the cheek. —MGP, GMA News
