Taylor Swift to drop surprise studio album 'evermore'

Taylor Swift isn't done saving 2020 with her music!

The singer announced on Thursday that she is set to release yet another surprise album called "evermore."

The album is her ninth studio album and is the sister record of her hit album "folklore."

"To put it plainly, we just couldn't stop writing songs. To try and put it more poetically, it feels like we were standing on the edge of the folklorian woods and had a choice: to turn and go back or to travel further into the forest of this music. We chose to wander deeper in," Taylor said in a tweet.

The singer also said that in the past, she always treated albums as "one-off eras" and simply moved onto "planning the next one after an album was released."

"I've never done this before," she said. "There was something different with folklore. In making it, I felt less like I was departing and more like I was returning."

"I loved the escapism I found in these imaginary/not imaginary tales. I loved the ways you welcomed the dreamscapes and tragedies and epic tales of love lost and found into your lives. So I just kept writing them," she added.

Aside from sharing her love for working with Aaron Dessner, Jack Antonoff, WB and Justin Vernon, Taylor also hinted of welcoming new and longtime friends to their music process.

Taylor dropped her surprise album "folklore" in July.

The new album will be released at 1 p.m. on Friday (Philippine time). —Kaela Malig/MGP, GMA News
