Doctors on Christmas Eve duty remind public: Stay home, celebrate with household members

Doctors on duty this Christmas Eve have a reminder for everyone celebrating the holidays: observe health and safety protocols.

In an interview with Mike Enriquez on “24 Oras” Thursday live via Zoom, physicians from East Avenue Medical Center advised the public to remain at home and celebrate with immediate household members to prevent infection and spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

“If you can, stay at home and celebrate with your immediate family lang sa bahay lang, that’s what’s best for us right now,” said Dr. Fille Cainglet.

She also stressed on the use of masks and observing social distancing.

Together with her colleagues, Dr. Cainglet shared that being on duty during holidays was not new to them. However, in previous years, their families could visit them and bring them food at the hospital.

Now, they couldn’t have visitors and just had food delivered to them.

But they have no regrets. “Ito po ’yung pinili naming propesyon at masaya po kami sa ginagawa namin,” she said. – RC, GMA News
