Kara David gives tips on how to write documentaries

Veteran journalist and “i-Witness” host Kara David has been giving free lessons on how to create insightful documentaries that will catch viewers’ attention.

In a series of videos posted on YouTube, the anchor shared tips on how to write an effective introduction and conclusion for documentaries.

She emphasized the importance of a good intro and extro, which “hook the audience” and tell them what the story is about.

“Kung mahalaga ang intro, mahalaga din ang extro,” Kara said. “Ito ’yung naaalala ng mga tao.”

She also explained the types of intros and extros filmmakers could use and gave examples from her own documentaries.

At the start of the year, the award-winning journalist announced that she would be offering free YouTube tutorials on journalism and television reporting. – RC, GMA News
