This TikToker parodies iconic scenes from 'True Beauty' and other K-Dramas

A Filipino TikToker has taken his love for Korean dramas to a whole new level by making parodies of his favorite scenes for all the internet to enjoy.

His name is Raymond Baltazar, a second year college student who has been a K-Drama fan since high school.

The Davao-based creator has captivated more than 50,000 followers with his hilarious reenactments and reaction videos about dramas like "True Beauty" and "Start Up."

In an interview with GMA's "iJuander," Raymond said it all started with a video titled "me after watching a k-drama" which he made after failing to move on from a K-drama he binge-watched the night before.

"So kinabukasan naisip akong i-video ang sarili ko na ipapakita kung ano 'yung feeling after kong matapos ang isang K-drama at doon nag-umpisa ang lahat, madaming naka-relate sa video na 'yon," Raymond said.

After the success of his first video, Raymond devoted more of his time to writing, directing, and editing.

He would even memorize an entire dialogue in Korean and balance a heavy electric fan cover on his head to look like he was in the Joseon period. But, why?

"I make videos because I enjoy doing it and it's my passion," Raymond said. "And as long as there are still people who look up to my content and I can still put smiles on their faces, I will continue to make videos."

Also, like many of us, K-dramas also helped Raymond cope with sadness and anxiety amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Para sa akin, kaya maraming nagiging K-drama addict at nanonood ng K-drama dahil nagbibigay ito ng mga iba't ibang feeling," the creator told "iJuander."

"Kahit isang episode pa lang napanood mo, 'yung bigla ka na lang tatawa, tapos iiyak maya-maya o magagalit tapos kikiligin ka naman," he said. —Margaret Claire Layug/MGP, GMA News
