The QCinema International Film Festival is set to offer production grants to its chosen entries in this year’s QCShorts competition.

Now on its 9th year, the festival will be choosing three winners among the submitted short film entries.

Each winner will receive a production grant worth PHP350,000 with ownership of film rights.

The total running time of the film, including the opening and closing credits, must not be more than 20 minutes.

The contest is open to Filipinos aged 18 and above. Interested applicants may visit the QCinema website for the complete requirements.

Deadline of submission of entries will be on March 29, 2021.

The festival said that it increased the grant to help local filmmakers “abide by the increased safety protocols” amid the pandemic.

With the grant, filmmakers are expected to follow shooting guidelines such as testing and lock-in safety measures.

Chosen entries are also instructed to shoot in few locations and scale down the number of crew members.
