6,500 individuals in Kalinga, Mt. Province receive aid from GMA Kapuso Foundation
A total of 6,500 individuals from Kalinga and Mountain Province have received gift packs from GMA Kapuso Foundation.
According to a “24 Oras” report on Wednesday, among the beneficiaries is 60-year-old Evelyn Balag-Oy Gayyaman, who soldiers on with her business amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Gayyaman said her business got even bigger despite the crisis, with her selling over 1,000 bottles of chili paste a month.
Meanwhile, provincial health officer Dr. Carolyn Yawan said COVID-19 cases continued to rise in Mountain Province since the UK variant was detected.
According to Yawan, there are more cases now compared to last year and the previous month and until now, the first carrier of the variant in the province is still unknown.
While residents and children received the foundation’s “Give a Gift” bags which included groceries and toys, health offices were given medicine and antibody rapid test kits.
For interested parties, donations can be made through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuiller and PayMaya, while vouchers are available on Shopee and Zalora.
