'Jujutsu Kaisen' manga sales exceed 40 million copies

"Jujutsu Kaisen" is unstoppable!

The manga by Gege Akutami has sold over 40 million copies, print and digital alike, according to Anime News Network.

Sales rose by 470% in the past half year since the anime adaptation premiered in October, the report added.

Publishing company Shueisha reported that the manga had sold 8.5 million in early October, and 35 million as of March 4.

Akutami launched "Jujutsu Kaisen" in March 2018, after publishing a brief prequel the year before.

The anime premiered last October 2.

The story follows Itadori Yuuji who was recruited to study to become a Jujutsu sorcerer after his exposure to curses.

TOHO Animation recently revealed that it is adapting the prequel into a film. —JCB, GMA News
