Shamcey Supsup looks back at winning Binibining Pilipinas 10 years ago

Shamcey Supsup took a trip down memory lane as she looked back at her win at Binibining Pilipinas 10 years ago.

On Instagram, Shamcey posted a photo of herself with fellow queens Isabella Manjon and Dianne Necio.

“[Ten] years ago I was crowned Binibining Pilipinas-Universe and I will be forever grateful to [Binibining Pilipinas] for the opportunity of a lifetime; to represent the Philippines in the Universe stage,” she wrote.

Shamcey said as a first-timer in the pageant world, she never thought she would go far in the competition, “but I also believed that we are (placed) in a position for a purpose and I hope that I was able to serve mine.”

She said her reign may have ended “but the universe has continuously blessed me with opportunities to empower women and I hope to continue doing so in the next 10 years or more.”

Shamcey represented the Philippines at the 60th Miss Universe pageant in 2011 where she placed third runner-up.

The beauty queen is now the national director of Miss Universe Philippines.

This year, Rabiya Mateo will be representing the country at the Miss Universe pageant, which will be held May 16 in the US. – Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/RC, GMA News
