'How I Met Your Mother' is getting a sequel starring Hilary Duff

You've heard of "How I Met Your Mother," now get ready for "How I Met Your Father."

According to reports, a sequel for the hit sitcom has been ordered by streaming service Hulu.

And the best part? Hilary Duff is set to star.

"How I Met Your Father" will be set in the year 2021 and it will follow Duff's character Sophie as she tells her kids how she met their father.

Sources told Variety that it is still unclear if the new show will tie into the original.

"How I Met Your Mother" creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas are reportedly on board as executive producers.

Duff will also be producing.

"How I Met Your Mother" is a 2005 series that revolves around Ted Mosby, who tells his children the events that led him to meet their mother. In his eventful journey, he is joined by his friends Lily, Marshall, Robin and Barney. —JCB, GMA News
