Donnalyn Bartolome clarifies issues on ‘last to leave pool wins 1M’ vlog, to release raw clips

Donnalyn Bartolome has addressed the issues regarding her controversial vlog titled “Extreme Last To Leave The Pool Wins 1 Million.”

On Wednesday, Donnalyn said she would be releasing raw footage of the vlog where she, Marco Gumabao, and Super Tekla got into an argument over the prize money.

The game, which was organized by Donnalyn’s team, featured the participants having fun at a pool party and trying to outlast each other for a chance to win PHP 1 million.

It was all fun and games until Marco and Super Tekla accused Donnalyn of being unfair, saying the rules were unclear.

Donnalyn took to Facebook to clarify the issues by raising six points.

On being unfair

According to Donnalyn, some of the rules not shown on the vlog because it was already 28 minutes long included keeping their bodies underwater.

“Me, standing? Unfair? I’ll show you all the raw clips. Everyone was standing in that pool after I told them to stay underwater,” she wrote in Filipino.

“Each participant still in the game disregarded that rule,” she continued.

Donnalyn said that instead of focusing on making people happy through the vlog, everyone had their minds on the cash prize so she had no choice but to do something.

“No one was speaking already. That’s why I’m there spicing things up, talking to the camera. I’ll show you raw clips of them standing but aren’t eliminated to be fair,” said the vlogger.

“Anyway, it is unfair if I’m the only one standing to talk to the camera and the viewers.”

She pushed a participant to cross the line

Donnalyn did not straight up deny this, but said she would release all videos taken from different angles.

“Did I really push anyone or they just can’t accept their loss? If so, then the violator could’ve complained that I pushed him,” she said.

“Wait for other angles. Let’s play it in slow motion, as well. Don’t delete comments.”

She sat on the railing

Coming to her own defense, Donnalyn said her feet stayed in the water so that did not mean she’s disqualified.

“What’s the definition of pool? Let’s Google search. Water. The violator put his feet on the metal frame while mine remained underwater.”

The vlogger urged viewers to watch other “last to leave the pool” videos to see that not one participant let themselves out because they knew the consequences.

According to Donnalyn, Marco was already out of the water for at least 20 seconds so she couldn’t just turn a blind eye on it.

“If that was two seconds, I can probably let it go but another participant also complained.”

On not wanting to give away PHP 1 million

The vlogger said this accusation made her heart break because she had said at the start of her vlog that she would be giving it away.

“If I win, I’ll give the PHP 1 million to my fans because I know that they need it. If I win or not, I’ll still give away the money.”

On violating the neck-deep rule

Donnalyn said the neck-deep rule wasn’t applied yet in the video and that everyone didn’t do so too.

“You might tell me I’m unfair so I need to show clips from another angle,” she wrote, adding that new rules were needed since all of them had been in the pool for hours.

She also said they had to “pause” the game because of stress caused by the “dispute” with Marco and Super Tekla.

“I was waiting for them to tell me that they’re only pranking me,” she said.

Acccording to Donnalyn, she invited them for her “Boost A Vlogger” content, where she featured and paid vloggers who she felt “deserve more support.”

“They get to [collaborate] with me on their channel, as well,” she wrote. “Content exchange has no rate but I volunteered to pay even before we picked the challengers.”

Rules of the game were unclear

Donnalyn said the rules of the game were verbalized thrice to all participants before the game started and it’s all caught on camera.

“They are all aware. Then when someone violated, it suddenly became unclear? Why were you following the rule this whole time? Let’s just release the raw clip,” she said.

“I will also release clips where the staff and I loudly explained the rule in front of all participants, in case someone does not understand.”

Toward the end of her statement, Donnalyn urged viewers to watch the unedited clips once they’re uploaded so they could “quit it with [rules] being unclear.”

She added that the vlog’s only purpose was to make people happy and for her to celebrate hitting seven million subscribers on YouTube.

“[I just want to share my blessings by giving away [one] million, win or lose, and, at the same time, entertain with no intention of cheating anyone involved.”
