Netflix is adapting R.L. Stine's classic 'Fear Street' book series into a film trilogy


Netflix is adapting yet another classic — none other than R.L. Stine's book series "Fear Street."

The streaming giant on Thursday announced a film trilogy based on the horror series which was first published in 1989.

The story starts in 1994, when a group of teenagers discovers that the terrifying events that have haunted their town for generations may all be connected — and that they may be the next targets.

The trilogy follows the nightmarish events through Shadyside’s sinister history.

The schedule of the films' release is as follows:

  • Fear Street Part 1: 1994 - July 2
  • Fear Street Part 2: 1978 - July 9
  • Fear Street Part 3: 1666 - July 16
