Here's why comic artist Manix Abrera prefers getting interviewed at night

Manix Abrera is a popular comic artist known for his relevant socio-cultural illustrations. He's also among the people who prefers getting interviewed during the night time.

In an episode of "The Howie Severino Podcast," Howie shared that his son wanted to ask Manix why he wanted to get interviewed at night because they had one scheduled at eight in the evening.

"That question is so memorable because no one has ever asked me that," Manix said in Filipino. "The reason is I noticed that I'm more creative at night. I can think more. And I'm more comfortable in the interview if it's at night."

"I think faster, I can think more. That's why even before, my drawing style is I write at night. I write the script at night, I plot the story art, the storyline at night. I'd do the planning at night," he added.

It's only in the morning, Manix said, that he would draw his thought-out ideas. He said that he would start his day at eight in the morning and work until past midnight.

"Sometimes I go into this mode that I want to do a lot of things so it's really non-stop until late at night. And I'd sleep it off until morning, sometimes I wake up in the afternoon," he said.

That's peak night owl behavior right there, but Manix said he can also be an early bird sometimes.

"There are times that I can't think of anything so I just sleep it off. I'd just wake up early and that's when I think. So it changes, but my time mostly is at night."
