"Vinland Saga" is getting a second season!

According to a report from Anime News Network, production for Season 2 of the acclaimed 2019 anime has received the green light.

The announcement was made on Wednesday in the "Vinland Saga 2nd Anniversary Memorial Movie."

"Vinland Saga" is based on the manga of the same name created by Makoto Yukimura.

It tells the story of the Thorfinn, the son of a Viking warrior who settled in Iceland. He grew up listening to tales of Vinland, an abundant and warm land far to the West, but he ends up embroiled in the bloody life of a Viking after his father's past catches up with their family.

The first season had 24 episodes and followed Thorfinn in his quest for revenge against Askeladd, the cunning leader of a small Viking band.
