'Enchanted' sequel finishes production, to premiere in 2022

"Disenchanted," the sequel for the hit film "Enchanted," is finally coming in 2022!

Director and producer Adam Shankman made the announcement on Instagram with a photo of himself and Amy Adams, who plays Princess Giselle in the movies.

"Myself and Giselle [or] Amy Adams would just like to say: And that's a wrap," he said. "Coming to you in 2022."

According to a People report , the sequel will take place 15 years after "Enchanted," where Giselle ends up questioning her happy ever and triggers new events for the real world and in Andalasia.

Apart from Amy, the original cast including Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, and Idina Menzel are also returning for the much-awaited film.

"Disenchanted" started production earlier this year. It will air on Disney+.
