Pia Wurtzbach to basher who compared her with other beauty queens: Stop pitting women against each other
Pia Wurtzbach has fired back at a commenter who compared her with other beauty queens.
On Monday, the Miss Universe 2015 shared a photo of herself in workout clothes and told her followers about the latest episode of her podcast “Between Us Queens,” where she and her co-hosts talked to a Miss Universe Philippines candidate about confidence and breaking free from social norms.
One of the commenters on the Instagram post gave a negative feedback, saying Pia didn’t have a career other than “pictorials” and vlogging about pageants.
“Move on gurl sa mga pageant na ’yan! We are expecting big events in your career and in your life!!! Movies waley??? TV shows waleyy din??? Naku gurl you need a good manager!” said the commenter.
[Move on from pageants! No movies? No TV shows too?]
“One day gigising nalaos ka na lang na wala ka man lang ginawa! Kasi si [Jonas] Gaffud wala pa naman talagang nagagawang superstar sa showbiz,” the person added, referring to Pia’s pageant mentor.
[One day you’ll wake up, you’re old news and you didn’t do anything about it. Because Jonas Gaffud hasn’t made any superstars in showbiz.]
The commenter then mentioned another beauty queen who was starring in an upcoming film.
In her lengthy and empowering reply, Pia said she didn’t want to pay attention to fake accounts but she wanted to let everyone know she was happy for her friends who were doing well in show business.
“But for me it’s not a personal goal anymore! I’m so happy and grateful for the blessings I have in my life now. I found the perfect balance of doing what I love and being happy in it,” Pia said.
She said she had been managing her own career for a while now and was very happy with its direction.
“Tama na ’tong comparing and pitting women against each other,” she added.

“2021 na at may pandemic na tapos stuck pa rin tayo sa ganitong mindset. Tama na. Di nakakaganda.”
