Universal Studios Japan to launch Donkey Kong expansion for Super Mario World

Universal Studios Japan is expanding its Super Mario World  with a Donkey Kong-themed area!

This will be the world's first attraction to bring to life the popular video game character Donkey Kong.

According to USJ's website, the new area will feature a roller coaster, interactive experiences, themed merchandise and food.

"Guests will feel like they are playing inside the world of Donkey Kong as they take a walk on the wild side through the lush jungles where Donkey Kong and his friends live," they said.

The new Donkey Kong-themed area is set to open in 2024.

Universal Studios Japan launched its Super Nintendo World area in February. —JCB, GMA News
