‘The Penthouse’ star Kim So Yeon in talks to join new season of ‘Tale of the Nine-Tailed’

"The Penthouse" star Kim So Yeon is in talks to join the new season of "Tale of the Nine-Tailed."

According to a Soompi report, an industry representative shared on Wednesday that the actress would be joining South Korean broadcasting company tvN's upcoming drama "Tale of the Nine-Tailed 2" as a main character.

However, So Yeon's agency J-Wide Company said nothing had been finalized. “’Tale of the Nine-Tailed 2′ is one of the projects that she received a script for. Nothing about her appearance has been finalized,” it said.

“Tale of the Nine-Tailed," which featured Lee Dong Wook, Kim Bum, and Jo Bo Ah, premiered at the end of 2020.

It follows a male nine-tailed fox who takes on a mission so his first love can be reincarnated. While he searches for his lost love, he meets a producer who investigates the supernatural.

Last month, a representative from tvN said they were in the middle of discussing the show's second season. The source added that they planned the new season to have 16 episodes and season one's director, Kang Shin Hyo, would still be in charge of directing.

According to Soompi, Dong Wook, known for his roles on "Goblin" and "Touch Your Heart," will continue playing the male lead. Should So Yeon accept the project, she will take the role of the female lead.

Several drama industry sources reported that the second season would be set during the Japanese colonial occupation and the following season in the Joseon Dynasty. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
