Secrets told, love unfolding, and so much more: 5 things to watch in 'Euphoria' Season 2
"Euphoria" is finally coming back for another season and it's going to be more intense than ever.
After leaving viewers at the edge of their seats with a cliffhanger on each character's story from Season 1, Season 2 promises an even more exciting rollercoaster ride of emotions in the next seven episodes.
Straight from the stars themselves, here are some things you shouldn't dare miss.
1. A make or break in Rue and Jules' relationship
After parting ways at the train station, Rue (Zendaya) and Jules (Hunter Schafer) are set to reunite in an unexpected way. Though the trailer shows their love blossoming, they are still set to face more.
Given Rue's relapse, Jules is going to take matters into her own hands and decide for what she thinks is best for her partner. How Rue takes it is going to make or break them.
Nevertheless, Hunter described Jules' love for Rue as one that a "soulmate" would have since they met.
"Beyond romantic, it's something in the stall that they felt when they first met. I'm trying to hold on to it. I think it's warm and wholesome," she told GMA News Online.
2. Dominic Fike as Elliot
Dominic Fike has come to the picture as Elliot. Is he going to be a friend to Jules and Rue or not?
While he was seen laughing around with Rue in the trailer, he was later trying to escape an attacker with a broken window on his car. Though nothing's for sure yet, Elliot sure looks like adventure for all of us.
In any case, the singer-songwriter said joining "Euphoria" for its second season was "incredible," and it's one for the books. "I've never done anything like it."
3. A spotlight on Lexi and Fezco
Lexi (Maude Apatow) and Fezco (Angus Cloud) are finally getting their spotlights on Season 2!
In the first part, they were seen as those who just stood behind their friends and family as they face their own challenges in life. This time, it's time for their stories to be known to the world.
"Lexi spent a lot of her life being there for Cassie, her mom, and Rue and never really takes time for herself. [This is] the first time that she really puts everything into something that's for her," Maude said.
While Fezco is also busy trying to keep his life together, Maude said it can be seen in the upcoming show that he also played a big role in making her happier.
"He only really has a positive effect on her," she said. "They both have a lot of the same sort of interests where you wouldn't expect it but I think so far, I think he’s been a positive influence."
4. A turn on Kat and Ethan's relationship
Kat (Barbie Ferreira) and Ethan (Austin Abrams) became most people's favorite couple in the series after Season 1. With a cute story like theirs, who wouldn't?
However, it looks like they're going to face a lot of serious problems when the second season arrives.
"Last season, we ended in like a fantastic way," Austin said. "It takes a more realistic approach and will show what happens after that initial kind of butterflies, fantasy."
5. Of course, more drama
As if everything that went through in the first season wasn't enough, there's going to be more drama in Season 2. From between family and lovers to best friends, a lot is going to unfold.
Compared to how the pilot season was told, Zendaya said Season 2 is much heavier given the twists in the characters' back stories.
"I think we definitely wanted to mature and to evolve," she said. "Everything is kind of a little bit more in contrast in a sense that the highs are so much higher and the lows are so much lower."
"The things that are funny are really funny and the things that are painful are really painful. I think that gives the rollercoaster feeling. I think it just pushed the extremes in a lot of ways."
Also starring Alexa Demie (Maddy), Sydney Sweeney (Cassie), and Jacob Elordi (Nate), among others, "Euphoria" Season 2 premieres Monday (Philippine time) on HBO and HBO GO.
