Kris Aquino shares health updates, reveals donations to help Filipinos

Kris Aquino said despite knowing that her health was far from OK, she was doing her best to help her fellow Filipinos.

On Wednesday, she shared photos and videos of herself in bed as she received a jab and an IV insertion while her arms were covered with bandages.

"Inamin ko na malayo sa okay ang kalusugan ko … pero ginagawa pa rin namin ang lahat ng kakayanin sa ngayon, para makatulong sa kapwa," Kris wrote on Instagram.

In the same post, she revealed that she had donated 800 pieces of COVID-19 antigen test kits for the use of BUKLOD-CID members of Bureau of Immigration.

She will also be donating 1,000 pieces of cheese pandesal to Philippine General Hospital personnel, their patients, and companions for 10 consecutive Wednesdays.

"Kung babatikusin, honestly care ko. Patuloy akong tutulong at patuloy kong i-po-post. Kasi nga naman: Kailan ba naging masama ang gumawa ng kabutihan?" she said.

Despite all the challenges she was going through, Kris said, "kinakaya ko pa ring isipin na maraming mas mahirap ang pinagdaraanan."

She added: "I'm posting this today dahil sa nabasa ko sa Philippine Star tweet directly quoting government official answers about DOH not being able to provide test kits. He said, 'I don’t know, I have no answer to that.'"

Kris also shared her "unsolicited" advice to the government. "Kayo ang naka-pwesto ngayon madaling humingi ng donations especially pag nag-thank you ang Malacañang, honored ang donors."

She said: "Simple lang po -- lahat nakatulong, lahat may mahalgang nagawa para sa mahal nating bansa."

Kris said she had a long way to go "to strengthen my body and heal my broken heart."

"But from childhood I already knew, for me weakness could never be an option … especially now because I have kuya Josh and Bimb who still need me to love, care, and provide for them," she said. "Para sa dalawang pinakamamahal ko, hindi ako susuko."

She thanked those who had sent her flowers, balloons, fruits, home cooked meals, rosaries, prayer books, and ice cream.

"To all, please know how much your thoughtfulness and gestures of caring especially your messages and hand written cards have uplifted me," she wrote.

"At least now I know sino ang totoong nagmamahal at maaasahan, at sino ang makasarili at fake lang pala."

She ended her note with a disclaimer saying that she was not talking about her ex-fiance, former Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Mel Sarmiento.

"Hindi po yung ex-fiance ang pinatatamaan, kung sya pinangalanan ko na lang," she said.

In December, Kris also posted about her relief operations for victims of Typhoon Odette. – Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/RC, GMA News
