Spotify launches video podcasts in the Philippines

With this new Spotify feature, you can now enjoy listening to podcasts while watching your favorite hosts too!

Starting on Thursday, local Spotify Originals and Exclusives, including “Wake Up with Jim and Saab,” “Skypodcast” by Slater Young and Kryuz Uy, and “Pausecast with Hannah Pangilinan,” will feature video podcasts that invite audiences to engage more deeply with what they’re listening to without leaving the app.

With Video Podcasts, Spotify users will be able to enjoy “video background-play,” which allows users to switch between active watching (with video in the foreground) and passive listening (video in the background) without disruption and at no additional cost.

First, you have to open the Spotify mobile app. Then, navigate to the show of choice and the episode page.

After you hit the play button on a podcast episode, you have to tap the play bar at the bottom of the screen to view the full-screen video, and voila! You can now enjoy listening to and watching your favorite podcast creators. – RC, GMA News
