'House of the Dragon': 5 scenes to remember from Episode 1

[Spoiler alert: The following may contain spoilers for succeeding episodes of 'House of The Dragon.']

"House of the Dragon" finally made its premiere on Monday (Philippine time) and it looks like many viewers are hooked back into the George R.R. Martin's fantasy world.

As of writing, "House of the Dragon" is still in the Philippine trends list on Twitter with more than 400k excited tweets.

It's a must-see, to be plain and simple. It's "Game of Thrones" in a smaller, more concentrated manner that will have you obsessing over it, if we are to stan it.

Below are 5 scenes that foreshadow at least the next five episodes of the masterful "Game of Thrones" spin off.

Full disclosure: GMA News Online is among the handful of outlets that received access to the first six episodes of "House of the Dragon" (Thanks HBO!)

1. When Prince Daemon gave Princess Rhaeynra the necklace. Prince Daemon and Princess Rhaeynra are rivals to the throne. So what is this — closeness? tension? something? — between them? Both are headstrong and ambitious, with a distinct handicap: Daemon has his temper and Raeynra has her gender and tradition.

2. When Sir Christon asked Princess Rhaeynra's favor during the tournament. Is that mutual admiration between the two? Is Princess Rhaeynra simply flirting and enjoying herself? The, erm, budding friendship between the two is most certainly etched in our minds, if only because they look so cute together.

3. Lady Alicent and Princess Rhaeynra hanging out under the Weirwood. The languid afternoon between the BFFs show not just their closeness but also Lady Alicent's perceptiveness and Raeynra's strength of character and knowledge. While it might seem like candid chatter between friends, Lady Alicent asking Rhaeynra, "You aren't worried about your position?" is pretty telling. These are important details to remember when their friendship takes a turn for complexity later on in the show.

4. When the Hand of the King sent Lady Alicent to Viserys "comfort him." With the Targaryen succession in doubt after King Viserys I lost his wife and child, the aspirations of King's inner council were set in motion.

The Hand of the King, Sir Otto, quiet as he is ambitious, called on his daughter Lady Alicent and sent her to the king to "comfort him." They have after all experienced the anguish of losing a loved one. Is this a move to secure even further the place of Lady Alicent and Sir Otto in the realm? She's already close to the princess — will a relationship to the King move her even forward?

5. When the King noticed a cut on his finger. While sitting on the throne, confronting his brother Daemon, Viserys noticed a small cut on his finger. It might seem like a less-than-important detail but remember: Any threat to the King is a big deal because — uh huh — the Targaryen's succession is still a mess. Tradition won't let a girl rule, Daemon is looking problematic as it is, and plenty ambitious people have set their eyes on the Throne. So what gives? — LA, GMA News
