Liam Hemsworth to replace Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia on 'The Witcher' Season 4

Liam Hemsworth is the new Geralt of Rivia beginning Season 4 of "The Witcher."

The Netflix series made the announcement on Sunday, welcoming Liam as the newest member of their family.

On Instagram, Liam expressed how he is "over the moon about the opportunity to play Geralt of Rivia" as he is a huge fan himself.

"Henry has been an incredible Geralt, and I'm honored that he's handing me the reins and allowing me to take up the White Wolf's blades for the next chapter of his adventure," he wrote.

"I have been a fan of yours for years and was inspired by what you brought to this beloved character. I may have big boots to fill, but I'm truly excited to be stepping into The Witcher world."

Henry, meanwhile, also left some good words for Liam to remember as he starts his journey as Geralt of Rivia.

"As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam's take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men," he said.

"Liam, good sir, this character has such a wonderful depth to him, enjoy diving in and seeing what you can find," he added.

Based on the fantasy book series of the same name, "The Witcher" takes place in a world where kings, elves, humans, and demons strive for supremacy. Its Season 3 is scheduled for 2023.
