Do you have pihikan pets? Try these homemade treats for your doggos
Sometimes our pets get tired of eating the same rotation of food every day. If your fur baby refuses to eat their regular fare, don't fret and try these homemade treats instead.
As seen on Katrina Son's report on "24 Oras Weekend," Saturday, fur mom Princess Sarah Pagaduan came up with delightful recipes for her doggos after consulting with a veterinarian.
Her menu for her pihikan pets includes kare-kare cooked with water, string beans, human grade beef, and peanut butter for dogs.
She also serves them kalabasa with chicken liver, pork with malunggay powder, and burger made of sweet potatoes, lettuce, ground meat, tomatoes, and cucumber. For dessert, she makes a homemade cake and frozen popsicle treats.
"Alam naman po atin 'yung dog food nila mas mahal pa po sa per kilo ng bigas natin," Princess said. "I make sure na makakatipid ako but at the same time hindi po maco-compromise 'yung health nila."
According to Dr. Mitzi Padrinao of JM Padrinao Animal Clinic, making homemade food for our pets if OK as long as we remember to avoid putting ingredients harmful for dogs like chocolate, onion, and garlic.
"May mga vitamins and minerals din tayo na makukuha through vegetables ok din 'yun, 'yung mga commercial treats mas mataas 'yung content ng preservatives."
