Alesso concert organizers issue statement after DJ was unable to perform

Ovation Productions, the concert organizers behind the Alesso concert, released a statement about his failure to perform at the gig last Saturday.

Alesso was a no-show at his Manila concert on December 17 at the SMDC Festival Grounds.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Alesso was unable to perform,” the statement said. It did not elaborate.

The Swedish DJ was the night’s headliner, with Ace Ramos, Martin Pulgar, Marc Marasigan, Rico Arce, KATDJ, Deuce, Katsy Lee, David Ardiente, and ACRAZE as supporting acts.

“Saturday's scheduled show pushed through featuring ACRAZE and the other support acts without Alesso,” the production added.

Later that night, entry to the show was made free by Ovation. The tickets for the concert will still be valid on the new date, which is being discussed and will be announced as soon as possible.

However, those who wish to refund may do so at their point of purchase.

In an Instagram Story, Alesso said the circumstances were out of his control.

"Manila, due to circumstances that were out of my own control, I'm deeply sorry that my show was cancelled," he said. "Me and my team are doing our best to make this up to you. I'm so sorry for this!" —Nika Roque/KBK, GMA Integrated News
