This cool Sinulog Festival animation is inspired by 'Game of Thrones'

Cebu just got a 'Game of Thrones'-inspired reimagining!

3D artist and music producer Carlisle Tabanera is behind the cool animation, which shows the annual Sinulog Festival in the style of the iconic opening sequence of the hit HBO series.

In an interview on 'State of the Nation,' Tabanera said he always saw such animations on YouTube, but they featured different cities around the world.

"I wanted to make something similar for Cebu," he said.

Although he's only been studying 3D animation for a year, his work impressed many online —especially since he also produced and arranged a re-imagined Sinulog theme song for the video.

As of posting, his video has already garnered over 35,000 reactions on Facebook.

"I still have so much to learn and improve on but I am very happy with how it turned out," he said. "I hope you all enjoy this very humble work of art that's dedicated to this beautiful island."
