Netflix beefs up Korean programming with more than 30 K-drama titles this 2023


K-drama fans, get ready to Netflix and chill!

The streaming service has announced their plans of offering their biggest lineup of K-drama ever. As in: Some 30 titles of Korean films, TV series, documentaries and reality shows will stream on Netflix this year.  

It began in January with the film "JUNG_E," with more Korean movies up in store throughout the year, including "Unlocked," "Kill Boksoon," "The Match," "Believer 2," and "Ballerina." 

Meanwhile, TV releases will begins on February 10 with the romcom "Love to Hate You." 

In March, the series, "The Glory" Part 2 starring Song Hye-kyo, Lee Do-hyun, Lim Ji-yeon, Yeom Hye-ran, Park Sung-hoon, and Jung Sung-il will hit Netflix. 

The second quarter will see more Korean offerings with "Bloodhounds," "Celebrity," "Queenmaker," and "Black Knight."

The third quarter will deliver the romance "A Time Called You," the action adventure "Song of the Bandits," "D.P." season 2, and "Mask Girl."

Netflix plans to close 2023 strong with "Gyeongseong Creature," "Sweet Home Season 2, "Doona!," "Daily Dose of Sunshine," and "Goodbye Earth" hitting the streaming service in the 4th quarter.

More series like "The Good Bad Mother," "King the Land; "Behind your Touch (WT);" "Crash Course in Romance;" "Destined with You;" and "See You In My 19th Life" will also be part of the Netflix family.

If you enjoy reality or variety shows, there will also be several survival entertainment programs, "Physical:100," "Siren: Survive the Island," and The Devil’s Plan.

Aside from that, "19/20(Nineteen to Twenty)" tracks Gen Z while "Zombieverse" involves -- what else? -- zombies.

For documentary fans, you can also find "In the Name of God: A Holy Betrayal" on March 3 and "Yellow Door: Looking for Director Bong’s Unreleased Short Film (WT)" in the fourth quarter on Netflix.

According to Netflix, over 60% of its members watched Korean programs in 2022.  — LA, GMA Integrated News
