'Mean Girls: The Musical' film adaptation begins production

The iconic 2004 film "Mean Girls" is going to have a musical film, and it just started production!

On Facebook, Tuesday, the film shared a teaser image showing someone wearing pink and holding a clapperboard.

According to E! News, "Mean Girls: The Musical" is based on the 2018 Broadway musical written by Tina Fey, who also wrote the screenplay for the original film.

It stars Angourie Rice, Reneé Rapp, Auli'i Cravalho, and Jaquel Spivey as Cady, Regina, Janis, and Damian, respectively.

"Mean Girls: The Musical" will stream on Paramount+. It will be directed by Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr.
