This dating app lets you find your match through music compatibility

From making cassette tapes of love songs to sharing a playlist with a potential love interest, music has always played a role in dating and relationships.

Bumble, an online dating app with a women-first mindset, has introduced the newest iteration of its Spotify integration dubbed “Top Artists,” which aims to help users find their musical match and identify shared interests through mutual artists.

Starting on Wednesday, Bumble users who linked their Spotify account to their profile can see if they are musically compatible with their potential match.

“Despite the popular belief that opposites attract, research has consistently shown that having similarities in important areas, such as values and lifestyles, is actually the key to a successful romantic relationship,” sex and relationship expert Shan Boodram said in a press release.

“Discovering that you and a potential romantic partner love the same artist is a fun and fast way to establish common ground, plus it provides a natural segue to start other important conversations around each person’s priorities and passions,” she added.

Pretty cool, right?

In an earlier report, research showed 7 out of 10 Filipinos look for romance when traveling. With this new Bumble feature on music compatibility, you might get a better chance of finding “the one” through your music compatibility, whether you’re vacationing abroad or in your home city.
