'Gossip Girl' sparks comeback rumors with latest social media update

Are we going back to the Upper East Side?

"Gossip Girl" sparked speculations that it is returning after updating their social media with a photo of its original cast.

The pic seemed to have been taken from the very first season and it shows Blake Lively (Serena van der Woodsen), Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf), Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass), Chace Crawford (Nate Archibald), Penn Badgley (Dan Humphrey), and Taylor Momsen (Jennifer Humphrey).

"Welcome back, Upper East Siders," the post said. "After a long time away, I see it didn’t take much time for you to dirty up the clean slates I gave you."

"Gossip Girl" follows a group of privileged teens who live in the Upper East Side of New York. It ran from 2007 to 2012 and had six seasons.

In 2021, HBO Max rebooted the show with a new cast but was canceled after two seasons.
