'Naruto' one-shot manga about Minato Namikaze is now here

The "Naruto" special one-shot manga about the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, has been released!

Titled "Naruto: The Whorl Within The Spiral," the chapter is available to read for free at Viz.com.

The one-shot is written by Masashi Kishimoto as a special treat to fans after Minato won the Narutop 99 character popularity poll in December.

In the chapter, Kishimoto told the story of why Minato developed his signature technique, the Rasengan.

It also revealed who named the technique, because the legendary Yellow Flash turned out to be such a dork about these things.

Of course, there is also some romance between Minato and Kushina Uzumaki—the two of them are Naruto's parents.

Other characters who appeared in the chapter are Jiraiya, Tsunade, Mito Uzumaki, and the Kyuubi.

The "Naruto" manga was first released in 1999 and ended serialization in 2014. It was adapted into an anime series in 2002.

A spin-off and sequel following Naruto's son, Boruto, began in 2016.
