Lea Salonga and former 'Miss Saigon' co-star Jonathan Pryce reunite

Kim and The Engineer have reunited!

Lea Salonga and Jonathan Pryce, cast members from the original production of “Miss Saigon,” recently got together again.

On Instagram, Lea posted a photo of them together in a dressing room

“When a former co-star and absolute acting giant shows up!!!” the Filipina singer and theater star said in her caption.

“Thank you for being there, dear Jonathan!!!” she added.

Lea and Jonathan both appeared in the classic stage musical when it first opened on the West End and Broadway.

Lea was the original Kim, a teenage Vietnamese girl who was orphaned and forced to work in the brothel Dreamland before the end of the Vietnam War. Jonathan played The Engineer, a hustler and Dreamland’s owner. They both won the Tony and Laurence Olivier awards for their roles.

Currently, Lea stars in “Stephen Sondheim's Old Friends” in the West End. In 2023, she made her Broadway comeback in the musical “Here Lies Love” as Aurora Aquino, former senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino’s mother.

Here Lies Love” is the first Broadway musical featuring an all-Filipino cast. It was co-written by David Byrne and veteran DJ Fatboy Slim. It closed in November 2023.

Meanwhile, Jonathan is best known for his roles in “The Crown,” “The Two Popes,” “Tomorrow Never Dies,” and “The Wife.”
