The “Music of the Spheres” tour by the British rock band Coldplay is finally happening on Friday and Saturday. Before the group's much-awaited back-to-back concerts, here are five songs to include in your playlist to help you prepare for the shows.

1. Yellow

"Yellow" is one of the songs included in their debut album “Parachutes,” released in 2000.

According to Coldplay’s frontman, Chris Martin, the song is about "devotion, referring to an unrequited love for someone or something.

2. The Scientist

Released in 2002, the song is part of their second album, “A Rush of Blood to the Head.”

According to the group, the lyrics is about a man's desire to love and an apology to his lost love.

3. Fix You

Released in 2005, “Fix You” is one of the most iconic songs in Coldplay’s discography. In 2021, it ranked 392 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time,” a testament to the song’s legacy.

Fun fact: the song was a comfort to Chris Martin’s then-wife, actress Gwyneth Paltrow, after her father died in 2002.

4. My Universe

My Universe” is a collab song with K-pop group BTS that was released in September 2021 as the second single of Coldplay’s ninth studio album, “Music of the Spheres.”

It was co-written by the Coldplay members and BTS members RM, Suga and J-hope.

5. A Sky Full of Stars

Released in May 2014 as the second single from their sixth album, “Ghost Stories,” the song took inspiration from Katy Perry and Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit.”

According to Chris Martin, the song “is about when you just say to someone, whatever you do is awesome and I love you no matter what, even if you hit me in the face or steal my sandwich, whatever you do”, adding its essentially about unconditional love.

Coldplay’s “Music of the Spheres” tour is happening on January 19 and 20 at the Philippine Arena.

Limited tickets for their second day show are still available at SM Tickets.
