Coldplay brings out Lola Amour to perform 'Raining in Manila'

Coldplay's first night in the Philippines just finished and one amazing thing stood out: Their surprise performance of "Raining in Manila" with OPM band Lola Amour.

On keyboards, Coldplay vocalist Chris Martin first began playing a few verses of the hit before: "OK, let's call the real people to do this. Lola Amour, let's play!"

The boys of Lola Amour went up the stage, vocalist Pio Dumayas hugged Chris, and then they killed it.

Though playing sparsely, Lola Amour got everybody singing along "Raining in Manila," including Chris who stayed with them on stage and sung backup from time to time.

On X (formerly Twitter), Lola Amour called the experience "Surreal."

Coldplay and "Raining in Manila" are among the top trending topics of the social media site as of writing.

The English rockers are set to perform their second and last night in the Philippines on Saturday, before heading out to Singapore to continue the Asian leg of their "Music of the Spheres" world tour.

This is Coldplay's second time in the country, having first performed back in 2017, and Filipinos are still loving them.

As early as 4pm, thick crowds and long lines were visible at Philippine Arena in Bulacan, while concert goers contended with heavy traffic on their way there.

Among those who attended the sold-out show were President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Marcos.
