Night fun run on May 18 aims to raise funds for people living in homelessness

Lace up!

The Electric Night Run for Hope 2024 is happening on May 18 at Filinvest, Alabang -- and it's an event for a good cause.

The neon-lit fun run is organized by leadership development organization JCI Manila, and it aims to bring together 8,000 individuals to raise funds for Hospicio de San Jose in San Miguel, Manila.

The hospice serves as a transitory refuge for various individuals in crisis, including women and children in abusive situations. It also offers foster care and after-care services for abandoned and neglected children, and children who are reintegrating back into society with their adoptive parents, relatives, or birth families.

This year, the Electric Night Run for Hope is dedicated to Hospicio de San Jose's program for persons living in homelessness. Proceeds from the event shall go to the construction and renovation of transitory homes for those without shelter.

Participants can sign up for their distance of choice, including one kilometer, three km, five km, and 10km. Assembly time for the run is at 8 p.m. Those who wish to participate may still purchase tickets until May 17, priced at P2,200 each.

Last year, JCI Manila also brought together over 4,000 runners for its Color Run for Education, which helped in the construction of school buildings at Monic Elementary School in Nueva Ecija.
