This bookstore is celebrating Free Comic Book Day on May 18

Heads up, comic book nerds: it's Free Comic Book Day at Fully Booked on May 18!

Free Comic Book Day is an event that began in the United States, organized by the comic book community to celebrate the comic as a form of media, uplift the independent comic industry, and bring together fans of visual storytelling.

The Philippines was quick to catch on, what with its own colorful community of comic readers, comic artists, and fans that continues to grow.

Fully Booked is among those marking this day, and this year, the bookstore chain's #FreeComicBookDay will run from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on May 18.

Readers who will visit the bookstore's branch in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, will receive a random selection of two free comic books, while those who'll drop by any Fully Booked branch in Luzon and Metro Manila will get one randomly selected comic title for free.

Free comics will be distributed until supplies last, according to the bookstore. Just some of the comic titles one can expect to get include "HellBoy," Marvel's "Star Wars" and "The Amazing Spider-Man: Venom," as well as "The Umbrella Academy," "Shaman King: Flowers," DC's "Year of the Villain," and many more.

Aside from free comics, Fully Booked will also offer sweet discounts on certain books, such as a 20 percent discount on D-coded titles under graphic novel and manga, graphic novel and manga children's, adult science fiction and fantasy, and film and media in all Fully Booked branches nationwide. Those who'll purchase titles under the abovementioned categories through Fully Booked's website on May 18 will also get 15 percent off.

Meanwhile, readers who'll snap up D-coded Japanese titles at Fully Booked BGC, Mitsukoshi BGC, and Fully Booked SM Mall of Asia will get a 20 percent discount.
